Description:
Porcellio laevis “Dairy Cow” is one of the most common and beginner-friendly isopods in the hobby, well known for its bold black-and-white “cow pattern” markings. This high-contrast coloration makes it instantly recognizable and very popular for bioactive setups.
This species grows to a large size compared to many other hobby isopods and is extremely hardy. It adapts well to a wide range of conditions and prefers a well-ventilated enclosure with a dry-to-moist gradient. It is very tolerant and fast to establish.
Once established, it becomes a very fast breeder and a strong cleanup crew species, making it one of the best entry-level isopods for beginners.
