Species: Snowball Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi)

Difficulty: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5)

Description:

Snowball Shrimp are a beautiful variety of freshwater ornamental shrimp, admired for their translucent white bodies and pearl-like appearance. Unlike solid white shrimp varieties, Snowball Shrimp have a soft, crystal-clear look that gives them an elegant and delicate charm in planted aquariums.

These peaceful shrimp are beginner-friendly and relatively easy to care for, thriving in stable water conditions with a well-established aquarium. They are active scavengers that feed on algae, biofilm, and leftover food, helping maintain a healthy aquarium environment. With proper care, they breed readily in captivity, producing distinctive white eggs that resemble tiny snowballs—one of the unique traits that inspired their name.
